The third-generation Mercedes-Benz SL, or the R107 as it is known to enthusiasts, is one of the most iconic cars ever produced by Mercedes-Benz, if not any automobile manufacturer. Made for 18 years, from 1972 to 1989, the ultimate expression of the R107 is the final 560SL model, made from 1986-1989, having all improvements made throughout the life of the design, as well as the most powerful engine, a 5.6 liter V8.

I am pleased to offer this wonderful example of the R107, a 1988 560SL, in the most desirable color combination of Signal Red over Palomino (beige) interior. The paint is 100% original, as verified by a paint meter, and the interior shows like new as well. Even the undercarriage and wheel wells are essentially in as-new condition; even the original paint marks from Mercedes are still visible on suspension and other components. The soft top is the original "Wopavin" top, and the hard top is present and original as well. All books, manuals, tools, jack, etc. are present.

The car is completely mechanically sorted and serviced as well. New Michelin tires were installed on all four corners, and Sphere Motorsports recently completely a comprehensive service including all fluids, filters, new exhaust, new driveshaft coupling, and other miscellaneous items. I have personally driven this car over 3,000 miles, and I can tell you that it is by far the finest 560SL that I have ever driven.

The 560SL is quickly becoming noticed by collectors, given the rise in the previous generation SL models, and its iconic shape along with its unimpeachable build quality means that prices are rising. Yes, there were many of these cars made, but few have survived in collector quality condition, and this 560SL is one of them. I look forward to discussing this investment quality Mercedes-Benz with you.
